Surprise!

Archie came as a surprise to almost everyone in the family.  Mom suddenly got an impulse one day and dragged Dad down the block to the local SPCA.  There they saw Archie and his sister just arriving at the SPCA.

As usual, Dad put up his best defense and said they’re there only for a visit.  But he totally underestimated Archie’s ultimate puppy power!  Unlike his little sister who was sleeping at a corner, Archie daringly marched up to face Dad.

And we know how the story goes.  Even Dad’s impenetrable defense was no match for Archie’s killer puppy look.

Archie: 1 vs. Dad: 0
It was a complete victory for Archie!

It is just by chance we got a cocker spaniel that is just right for our family, but choosing a puppy for your family is actually a crucial step. You have to consider all the family members in your family.  Are young children or elderly people in your house?  Elderly people are just as in risk as young children.  Even if it is a small size dog, they have enough power to knock over an elderly person with unstable physical balance.  For example, while my Grandma is using her walker doing her daily exercise at home, we have to make sure that Archie is secured at a place where he cannot trip Grandma over or scare her in any way to cause her losing her balance.  Although Archie is considered a small-sized dog, he has the power to push Grandma around while she's on her wheelchair.  It does sound cute, doesn't it?  But remember, if he were to get excited and jump on Grandma while she's standing up, it would lead to a very bad accident.
